My Own Version of This
I was already building an online business before moving to Spain, way before Galicia became a part of my life.

At the time, I didn't think of those things as portable assets.
I do now.
At a certain point, what I had been building became a real operating business. There were days that generated four figures from clients and offers I had built from nothing, with no office and no team. That was the moment the abstract idea of working from wherever turned into something much more concrete.
What that period gave me was bigger than the income, though. It gave me a working knowledge of how to build something from zero, how to price it, how to communicate with people I had never met, and how to keep going on the weeks when things did not work.

The subject was different. The audience was different. The business was different.
But I already knew how to build a brand online. I knew how to create content that could reach people outside my immediate geography. I knew how to communicate an idea, develop an audience, and turn knowledge into something useful for other people.
The business changed. The skill set came with me.
